I picked up a Bower 8mm fisheye lens the other day and took it on a couple test runs. So far, from a video perspective, I’m more than impressed with this lens. It’s very wide and very well constructed. I feel like this thing can take a solid beating.
I don’t have a lot of experience with professional still photography, but in my opinion, this lens is great in that realm too. It’s very sharp and produces some great color. The biggest flaw that I’ve noticed is some slight chromatic aberration around the edges at full res but once the image is scaled down, it looks fine. It flares up quite a bit when pointed directly at the sun, but I’m guessing that’s normal.
It was $400 with a really good insurance plan. I’m counting on this lens getting hit by a board at some point, so the insurance is nice. Can anybody compare the Bower to the Samyang and Sigma counterparts? I’d love to know the difference between the three.

A collection of some of my favorite clips from behind the scenes of Issue 20. I included some footage of us using our gear, so if you have any questions about that, just leave a comment. Enjoy!

It may not seem like it, but we’ve been working mighty hard on Issue 20. I’ve said this a few times, so I’ve decided to show you the issue in its entirety as proof (as a Final Cut timeline screenshot of course).
The video will be here on February 3rd, but for those of you who just can’t wait, please enjoy this promo video starring none other than Sturgil Horn. Yeah. Start getting hyped.
Regarding Youtube – This probably isn’t worth mentioning, but that’s the fun of blogs right?
In the interest of mobile devices and my overall convenience, I’m going to start switching all Post22 videos over to Youtube. This will mean more content and slightly lower video quality. If you care or if you don’t care, leave a comment and let me know. Any feedback is greatly appreciated.

Well it’s been too long since we’ve had some good Ruckus content on the site. For those of you who don’t know, the Ruckus crew are some of my best friends and the people who helped me start Post22. They don’t care about skateboarding outside of Manteo, NC, but they rip harder than most.
If there is one thing you can’t deny about these guys, it’s that they have character. I say this with a lot of hesitation, but skateboarding needs more dudes like this.

In case you haven’t heard, Raleigh is a damn cool city. And if you’ve been wondering why the site was down for so long, it’s for that reason. We’ve been enjoying the hell out of this place.
Now that we’ve got our new camera gear (much more on that later), we’ll be happily documenting and reporting all of the fun we have, skateboarding and beyond. This video is a glimpse of what’s been happening in our neck of the woods. Enjoy.

Ok, here’s the skinny. I released a teaser video for Film & Destroy on Post22.com recently, and the feedback came back as a unanimous “Looks cool! What the hell is it?”. If you were one of those confused viewers, then don’t worry. I didn’t even know what I was creating. I was just creating.
